Come help fellow guildies design and sew our Community Outreach Challenge for QuiltCon 2027! This year’s theme is half-square triangles (HSTs) and we've chosen to make an improv quilt representing Seattle's quirky gum wall in Post Alley. Seattle MQG members have been busy making improv HSTs and HRTs in a bold color palette.

This is the first of two sew-ins. The first task is to arrange the HSTs/HRTs on the design wall in a pleasing composition and then sewing begins! All are welcome to the "design and sew" sew-in, whether you contributed HSTs or not.

Please bring:

  • Sewing machine with grey or neutral thread
  • Scissors or rotary cutter
  • Cutting mat (optional)

We'll provide the design wall, large cutting mats, ironing boards, and irons.

This sew-in is open to all library patrons. Drop-ins welcome.
