The June 2023 General meeting will be hybrid, meaning you can attend virtually via Zoom or in-person at the Greenwood Senior Center. If you register for the in-person meeting, we will still send you the Zoom information (because, hey--life happens).

This month's speaker is Patricia Belyea, speaking on The Alluring World of Japanese Yukata Quilts. This meeting will not be recorded.

Lecture description:

Patricia will take us on an insider tour of the 2020 Tokyo Quilt Festival. She will present the highlights of this international quilt event, then continue onto a traditional chosen-dyeing workshop to explain this traditional hand-dyeing process. Patricia will finish with a show of her own quilts made with vintage Japanese cottons and talks about how these special fabrics inspire her.

Patricia will have a selection of one-yard packs of yukata cotton, a few kokeshi dolls, and vintage button packs for sale on-site at the Greenwood Senior Center, all items will be between 15-20% off. Either cash or card accepted.

Patricia will speak shortly after 7PM, followed by our guild announcements and sew and tell.

For our virtual participants:

We will have breakout rooms before and after the meeting. When you join the meeting on May 10th, we’ll put you in a breakout room, so you can chat with a smaller group until 7pm. Similarly, after the meeting, we will open some breakout rooms so that anyone who wants to hang around and chat can do so.

Remember to send your photos for Sew and Tell to hello@seattlemqg.com by 8pm, Tuesday, June 13th.

If you do choose to join us virtually, please be patient with us--we are still new at hosting hybrid meetings. While we want to make sure that everyone has a great experience, there will likely be some bumps in the road as we figure out a good setup and flow that works for all of our guild members.
